Dave Flippo has performed in Chicago as a pianist and vocalist for the past 25 years as a soloist, small ensemble leader and in large dance bands. When performing with acoustic bassist Michael Staron at Wilmette’s Avenue Restaurant, the manager prompted him to add an array of jazz arrangements by classic contemporary artists from the 60’s and 70’s such as Cream, Hendrix, Bowie, Wonder, Winehouse and Lennon/McCartney to his already voluminous collection of music. The result was his band's 5th CD, Life on Mars.

Dr. Flippo taught at the Swain Music Studios  in Evanston and Winnetka for over twenty-five years. He is currently a Jazz Piano and Classical Piano instructor at both College of Lake County and Triton College as well at his own home studio.  He also teaches music classes at both colleges.

Dave has released six CD's of his music on Southport and Oppilf Records. He received his Doctorate in Music Composition and Piano from the University of Michigan and a Masters of Music from the Eastman School of Music.
